The biopsy came back positive. I have papillary carcinoma of the thyroid. Cancer.
I have to have my thyroid removed, but beyond that- I'm not quite sure yet.
I have to call my IVF nurse and tell her that we have to put treatment on hold indefinitely. I don't want to call her. I don't want this to be real.
Oh my God, Kathy, I am so so sorry. My thoughts and prayers are with you <3

ReplyDeleteKathy this just breaks my heart. You are in my T&P and hope that removing it is all you need and soon you will get to do IVF and have a sweet baby in your arms. ((huge ehugs)) Im so sorry.. I could seriously cry for you right now.
ReplyDeleteI'm just a lurker/reader, but wanted to send you my very best wishes. I was given the same diagnosis in 2008 and have been cancer-free for 3 years after a thyroidectomy and iodine radiation treatment. Incidentally, our IF journey came after my diagnosis (not likely related though). I remember how scared and helpless I felt, and if you are feeling these things, I wish you strength and courage. Fortunately, as far as cancer goes, papillary thyca treatment is fairly simple and has very high success rates. However, it's no less scary when you are facing all of this.
ReplyDeleteSending you many, many well-wishes from the other side of this journey. You WILL be healthy.
Oh Kathy, I'm so so so very sorry to hear this. Try and stay strong. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Keep that beautiful chin up.
