Hmmmm...
This one was actually hard. I know that I can remember the first person that I *thought* I was in love with. Louis from 7th grade. I was convinced that we would be married and live happily ever after. I distinctly remember having a torrid affair with him at Tiffany Marx's party during a heated game of Spin the Bottle. It was the greatest day of my young life. I ran into him in a TGIFriday's when I was in college. Holy Embarrassing Batman. Yikes. And now, of course- we're Facebook friends. Very odd.
But really- the only person that I have TRULY been in love with is my husband. I knew that he was the one when I realized I finally felt like there was nothing to hide from him and all I had to be was myself. And to me- that is true, true love.

Day 2: The Meaning Behind Your Blog Name
Wow. So this one is kind of boring and makes me think I need a new blog name. And design. I hate that it's so dark and dreary, but I SUCK at blogger and just gave up trying to change the background all the time. Anyone out in blogging land have any suggestions about how a girl can have a fancy blog??
So the back to the name of my blog...
My screen name on The Bump is Kathy4678. It's actually been my screen name for everything ever since I ever had a screen name for anything. And so it's about my journey for a baby version of that, I guess.

Day 1: Introduce, Recent Picture, and 15 Interesting Facts
Recent Picture
How recent?? Like September-ish?? Sounds good!

This is me. This picture was taken over Labor Day weekend when JC and I went on a cruise to Bermuda. We were at dinner one night. The cruise was a much needed reprieve from IF land. And I love Bermuda. It's such a beautiful place.
15 Interesting Facts
Interesting?? ...well maybe not interesting, but here they are!
1. I was adopted. I have no idea how I found out that I was adopted- I've just always known. I really appreciate the fact that it has always been a very open topic in my house and I have never felt strange about it one bit.
2. Like my friend Lissasue, I had a *REALLY* good time in college. Maybe too good of a time? Sometimes I wonder how I survived it all.
3. I cry all the time. I'm just a cry-er. I cry when I'm stressed out, sad, angry, frustrated...a lot. My husband HATES this about me.
4. I might be the biggest worry wart on the planet. JC calls it "snowballing" I worry about one tiny thing and then next thing you know, I'm assuming the world will end and we'll all be dead. It's a gift, really.
5. I am very smart, yet lazy. When I was young, I qualified to go to a "special school" for smart kids, but cried when my parents tried to make me go. I should have done WAY better in high school and in college.
6. My father passed away in car accident when I was 16. I think now that I'm an adult, I miss him more than ever. It makes me sad that he'll never know my husband or our children.
7. If I could wear PJ's all day every day, I would. I have a true problem buying new pajamas and I'm trying to stop. Ok, not really trying- I got some new ones for Christmas!
8. I am fascinated by prison culture. If I didn't have to work for money- I would go do mental health work in a prison or a drug rehab center. I would really just be in it for the stories.
9. I have never, ever, ever been as sure about something as I am about the fact that I married the best possible person for me. I am so glad every day that I get to spend every day with him.
10. I play the lottery on the regular. Even the scratchers. Someone has to win, right?
11. I have an awesome magnet collection. Some of my favorites are from Guatnatmo Bay Cuba and Turkey. Are you going somewhere cool? Bring me a magnet!
12. I watch a lot of TV, but if I couldn't have TV anymore, I wouldn't care.
13. I HATE being in the car. Ironically- I spend almost 3 hours a day, 5 days a week...in my car.
14. I hate writing with pencils. The feeling of pencil on paper creeps me out. HATE. IT.
15. I have the best mother anyone could ever ask for. She would lay down in traffic for me and I can't even imagine my life without her.

2010: What I learned
What a year. Roller coaster emotions. Hard conversations. Lots of good and bad. All in all- I can't say that I'm sad it's over. I have high hopes for a better 2011.
I'm sure there are a ton more...but here is some of what I learned in 2010.
1. When my husband thinks something on TV is funny, he repeats it.
2. Being able to manage your money is key to having a good marriage.
3. Infertility is terrible. The people who deal with it well are my heroes. I'm still learning from them.
4. I made the right choice when I left my job in March.
5. We'll never have enough money. And that's ok.
6. JC and I make a great team. We've been able to make some hard decisions together.
7. I have no desire to live in the DC Metro area long term.
8. I love, love, love being an aunt.
9. I will always battle with my weight, despite having gastric bypass over 3 years ago.
10. I have surrounded myself with amazing people.

Thankful Thursday
Today I am thankful for my friends. My internet friends and my in real life friends. I don't think I could have gotten through the last year without them. I am grateful and thankful for you every day.
I am so thankful that my good friend MH brought me to The Bump. I have met some of the most wonderful people there- people I have learned from and respect. I hope they know that even if I don't "know" them- I really appreciate what they share. So thank you MH for bringing me MillerTime and Alison, Baboo and Mrs.Baker, Sulfa and Papps, Mchupie and Otter...and everyone that I forgot! You know who you all are!
